Strikeouts for Troops

A's pitcher Barry Zito announced the formation of Strikeouts for Troops,a foundation that provides funding for "comforts of home" and assists with family travel and housing expenses for Us Military being treated at Walter Reed Army hospital,Bethesda Naval Hospital,and other military hospitals.

Zito will donate $100 to Strikeouts for Troops for every batter he strikes out in 2005.

While his latest performance left much to be desired, Barry has some class. I like what he is doing with this.
