Man it is sick what these starters are doing for the fish!!!!!!!
You got to love what Jack is doing with these pitchers and them sticking in the game and finishing it also. Dontrelle Willis pitched his second straight complete-game shutout

I have always loved Jack. I was so :Pissed: when the Reds fired him, what a mistake that was. But the way he handles this club, I really do admire his leadership.
These starters have been fantastic. Even Beckett's outing last nite was good, just unfortunate with Delgado's errors.
Well, two seasons ago, Willis threw a one hitter in Florida against the Mets, where Tracshel pitched great too. Willis was just brilliant in that game. So I guess it was a bit of payback.
The Fish Starters this season are amazing. Love that Burnett is coming back so strong.

beckett is my favorite for the NL Cy Young, let the critisicm come rolling in, but i've been waiting for him to put it together and after watching him in the spring and in his first two starts i picked him. i pick every season with a couple friends after the first week.

They got Leiter back so it looks like they will have a good season.

I dunno, I think that Leiter will be good for only 5 innings per start although yesterday's start was certainly the Leiter of old.

I am with J.A. on this.
Man we need more old school guys back in the game. I love to see a starter go deep in the game all the time.
I get sick of seeing Clint Hurdle take a guy out around 100 pitchs all the time. Let them throw the ball hell the old timers threw everyday all most and had better arms than most of the guys today.

Leiter is going to be a .500 pitcher for the Fish this year, I think. Tonite his 80th pitch in the 3rd inning hit a batter. He did manage to get Beltran to hit a foul pop out but that was with the bases loaded. At least the other four starters are so strong.

I still think Leiter will have a decent year and if he is .500 it will probably be more of the Fish not giving him run support as was his problem with the Mets.... His era should be good enough to be well over .500.. Going into tonights game he had a great era of a little over 2.50 but yet he was 0-1...

I dunno, the Marlin announcers were saying that he has had trouble with his location and I guess it a matter of wait and see how he does. I can't believe that lineup wouldn't give him enough run support. That is one potent lineup.
The rest of that staff though, they will all benefit from each other's success. Al's a competitor and he's the veteran, I'm sure he doesn't want the youngins' to show him up.
