View Full Version : Is anyone worried about Brad Radke?

Brad is not fooling anyone with his performance. It's not very good at all. There is no way to sugarcoat. His first inning problem is a huge concern. Anytime the Twins fall behind in the first inning, it's not very good no matter how much Brad shrugs it off. He did not really looked that good against She-ca-go and he was no better last night against the Tigers. He is throwing lot of walks. He is not throwing strikes like he is capable off. He is not getting his patent groundballs. He just does not look right.
It's one thing to fall behind against the weaklings like the Tigers, but it's another to fall behind against a very good team like Boston, NY, LA of Anaheim (what a stupid name that is!), or even She-ca-go. He really needs to get it together.
The Twins ability to win the AL Central or even win a championship relies on Brad's good pitching. Right now, he is not doing his job.

Not worried at all. Brad has always had a history of teams getting some hits in the first vs him. It is early and he is fine. He is starting out just like he always has.

Radke retired 11 straight after Young's single and allowed three hits and one run after that.
He has a rough first inning. The first game of the year with the M's he had a great game really. He just gave up the goffer ball to Sexton that got the runs for the Twins.
This is the AL they score runs that is what they do. You hold a team in the AL to 4 runs there is a very good chance you will win the game.

I think the biggest problem for RAdke is gonna be expectations...lets face it... he had a CAREER year last season...and thats tough to follow... Radke Will be a consistant starter for the twins, a guy who can eat innings, and keep the twins in games.... Can't ask for much more...and you don't find a guy as loyal as Radke just laying around anymore.... He could have gotten a fat contract if he wanted to..but he showed some loyalty and stayed around

Well said Curt....
And loyalty means a lot to fans I feel and has there been a more loyal guy on the Twins for the past few years than Brad? That is why he will be one of my favorite Twins. He didnt leave in the lean years and still didnt this year. He is a team guy.

Having guys like Brad make being a twins fan that much better...that's what made losing Koskie hurt the most... knowing that he really didn't want to go...
Radke will be fine. No starting pitcher with a WHIP of less than 1.00 has had a losing record or an ERA over 5. Radke's WHIP is under 1.00
