He is HOT.

Batting .463, 4 homers, 12 RBIS, 14 Runs, 2 SBS...

I wonder if he can keep it up.

I hope he can. He has shown in the past quick flash's but for some reason Hurdle never liked to use the young guys it seemed to me. THey would get called up but never have a real shot.

But now that he is the man with a legit shot I hope he can. What is so cool about this is that he is hitting everywhere. He is hitting on the road and Coors. If you hit on the road outside of Coors then he should be able to keep a good avg but I am sure it will drop some.

He looks good Shad. His HR off Trevor was impressive. I love to watch rookies go up against a smart pitcher like Trevor and Barmes just clocked a 1-2 pitch over the wall. When Trevor is ahead in the count, then it's no contest for the batter. Barmes is just seeing the ball really well.

I'm hoping that him and the Rox put away the Dodgers tonite. The Pads started their losing streak, let's hope the Rox can continue on the Dodgers losing. :D

I am voting for Clint Barmes for the All-Star Game if he keeps this up.

Rookie SS Clint Barmes became the N.L.'s hottest early-season hitter by not worrying much about the scouting reports and focusing on staying in good hitting position. The deeper into the count, the better his approach has been. . .
This kid has been a bright spot...

So I guess Dan will be trading him soon also.

Still batting, what, .420?

I love this guy. He's producing better then my superstar first basemen on my fantasy team, some guy named Todd Helton. :notme:

There is no one to back Helton up. He isnt getting crap to hit.

That's the problem with a guy like Helton who has noone in the lineup to back him up. He needs a smart veteran hitter behind him so pitchers know that rookie free swinger is not the guy to take a chance on. I feel bad for Helton, coz he won't get anything to hit until the guys in the lineup behind him start really truly invoking fear throughout the league and that may not happen til next season. Piazza went through something similiar for a couple of seasons and all the NY Press and some fans kept screaming, "Piazza is done". Well, I guess he's proving that wrong. It's awful though when you start seeing a good, smart hitter lunging for pitches outside, just for something to hit, create bad habits and then slumps. It's just awful to watch.

The Rox have a good lineup, they keep doing what they are doing, Helton may not feel that pressure that Piazza did.

You watch the Rox they are in about every game. It is that so very bad bullpen. If the Rox would have a good bullpen they would be in first place if not right there with the rest just because they have lead in so many games just to hand it over to that bad pen and let them blow it... :(
