The game is coming to you today at Coors Field as the Colorado Rockies go for the sweep today against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It's Clint Barmas, Matt Holliday, Brad Hawke, and Todd Helton's Rockies as they butt heads with Jeff Kent, Milton Bradley, and the rest of the Dodgers.

Rockies have won the first two games by knocking the daylights of the Dodgers starters early in the game. Here's hoping they do it against Brad Penny, who is making his first start for the year for the bad guys. Jeff Francis is on the bump for the Rox. Francis has been horrible IMO. I am not sure why he is up here, but here is hoping he starts getting better. One of the things Jeff has to work on is improving his command and stop throwing walks.

It would be nice to get a sweep so we can be 7-11 after a rough start. It would be nice to take a three-game sweep against a very good team in LA. It would be nice to be 5 games out and be right back in the NL West race.

This is an very important game for the Colorado Rockies.

The game is on Ch. 26 and the Rox are 0-2 on 26 Sundays so I am expecting a loss.

Game reset after 2:

-- Dodgers scored their lone run in the first on a Izturis leadoff single, Drew's single sends Izturs to third, Kent sac fly to send him home in the first inning

-- Preston Wilson's two-run HR gave the good guys a 2-1 lead. You have to like what Preston is doing right now. He is playing well.

-- Francis has done okay.

After 3 innings:

Dodgers have 1 run, 3 hits, and zero errors
Rockies have 2 runs, 4 hits, and zero errors

I got my brooms out today.

Game reset after 4:

-- Wilson's two run HR gave the Rox a 2-1 lead

-- Jeff Francis has been okay. He is not walking much

-- Brad Penny has gotten better as the inning progress for the Dodgers. Francis needs to match Penny's numbers because I don't see Penny struggling anymore.

Jeff Francis has been fantastic today. He may not be anything special, but he is getting outs today. That is encouraging.

Oh crap. Runners at second and third with nobody out with the bad guys threatening to lead here.

I had a feeling it would happen with the way Penny is pitching. I could not see Francis keep this up for so long.

3-2 Bad Guys

The inning is over now.

This might be it today for the Rox with the way Penny is pitching.

I hope we can get some runs here.

Game summary so far as we head to the seventh:

-- What a game so far! How about the Rox leading 5-3! It started with Clint Barmes and Todd Helton beating a groundball play to first. Then Matt Holliday had that big triple off that reliever, Sanchez to score Clint and Todd to give the good guys the 5-3 lead.

-- Dodgers started off with a 1-0 lead in the first, but Preston Wilson went deep to give the Rox a 2-1 lead.

-- Dodgers took the lead at 3-2 when LA got couple of hits from Kent and Bradley and LA scored through couple of sac fly. As Shad said, you get players on base at Coors, they will score.

-- Fortunately, Rox got couple of hits off Penny in the sixth and Halliday came through.

-- Penny was fantastic for the Dodgers today. He did a good job in his first start. With him on the mound, LA will be even a better team. I can't help but think if Penny was healthy in the NLDS last year, LA would have beaten Stl.

-- Francis was solid today. I can't complain overall.

Dodgers has 3 runs, 6 hits, and zero errors
Rockies have 5 runs, 8 hits, and zero errors.

Good job by Brian Fuentes as he got two Ks in relief in the seventh inning.

Hopefully we can get some runs and get some relief from the pen.

I want BK gone.

I had enough of this stiff. I had it. I want him gone.

He was thrust to get it done in the eighth, but he proceeded to hit two batters, give up two hits, and now he has the game tied at 5. God I hate this guy. Rockies should release him. He is not only a cancer to the team, but he is so bad and ineffective.

GET KIM THE HELL OUT OF DENVER! I want this guy gone!

This was a dissapointing loss. We should have swept the Bums (Dodgers nickname from their Brooklyn days). This was our game. I thought we had this game. I am really ticked off. I had enough with Kim. Get him out of here. He is a cancer to this team and he has suck the life out of the fans with his horrible performance.

This was a game we needed. A chance to be 7-11. This really pisses me off.

Oh and Spier needs to be in the minors.

It's a shame Kim ruined a good day for guys like Preston, Matt, and Jeff today.
