Twins right-hander Grant Balfour will have his elbow scoped on Wednesday in Cincinnati. A decision on whether Balfour might eventually need Tommy John surgery won't be determined until after Balfour's pictures are evaluated by Minnesota medical officials.
"The players' side has talked about that," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. "Not our side."
Balfour, on the 15-day disabled list, was 4-1 with a 4.35 ERA in 36 games last season.

UGH!
I am not counting on him to be with the Twins this year. I just am not. I just don't see him being able to be healthy. This is so dissapointing and disgusting. Grant was supposed to be a huge part of our bullpen this year and you saw what potential he had in the playoffs last year. Unfortunately, he just can't be healthy. He find ways to get hurt and I am tired of it. You can never count on him being healthy. I know Gardy and Rick Anderson is frustrated about his injuries.
Thank God for Matt Guerrier! He has been very good.

Grant is out for the year.
No suprise there.
Oh well. Let's hope Matt Guerrier can keep this up at least. I hope he does not end up like Fultz and Roa from last year. Fultz and Roa started off well in April and May and then those two fell off from the face of the earth right after that hence why they were off the playoff roster. I like to see Matt do well so he can be a big part of our huge pen this year.
