Redding pitched GREAT last night. FINALLY He really pitched well, he didn't just throw. Smart decisions, good location - great combination. It helps that he was in Petco too.
Then, today, Peavy gave up 4 runs in less than 6 innings. He did stay in til the 7th but he gave up 4 runs. HORRIBLE, JUST HORRIBLE!
At least the Pads bats are starting to come around - and at opportune times. Top of the 9th, the supposed winning run was given up to Colorado in the form of a HR, but Ryan Klesko in the 9th came in and smacked a ball in the right field stands to tie it up. Nevin has been hitting, MLo, well, he ALWAYS hits. Ramon Hernandez is such a nice offensive catcher, one where the Padres haven't really seen since Santiago was a Padre, eons ago.
Last season the Padres had a tough time beating the Rox. After the first game of the season, with Trevor blowing the save, I thought, "uh oh, here we go again, can't beat the Rox" but that hasn't happened. Strange.
