It was on this day,May 9,1984,when Harold Baines' walk-off home run in the 25th inning lifted the Chicago White Sox to a 7-6 win over the Milwaukee Brewers at Comiskey Park,ending the longest game by time in ML history.

Baines' blast came on the games' 750th pitch.Brewers reliever Chuck Porter gave up the homer in that fateful 25th inning.The game took 8 hours,6 minutes to complete over 2 nights.

The game started on May 8,1984,and was suspended after 17 innings because of AL curfew at the time.The 2 teams went on to play 8 more innings before Baines ended it in the 25th.

Tom Seaver picked up the win for the White Sox,pitching the 25th inning.He went on to pitch 8 1/43 innings in the regularly scheduled game,and picking up the win.That's 2 wins for Seaver in a 3 1/2 hour span.
