Winfield, Olerud, Abbott, Incavaglia, Hooten, Horner, and Ruthven all achieved some degree of stardom (Winfield is a HOFer).

Morgan had a long career for losing teams, and Conroy had an OK career for a while.

This suggests that college may better prepare the players for bigs than is presumed. Is college the equivilent of AAA? AA?
