Rick Reed will have to make up his mind whether to rescind his trade demand or become a FA.

This is only my opinion but I'd give odds that he rescinds his demand and stays with the Twins. nobody out there is going to pay him anywhere near the $15 million that he has left of the final two years of his contract, and if he pitches 197 innings this season a third year kicks in at $8 million. If he was out there as a FA he'd be lucky to get $3 or $4 mil.

The Twins have tried to trade him but the only team that would even talk to them was the Mets and they've backed off.

The Twins could do worse for a fourth starter but $7 mil a year is a heck of a price to pay for it.

I know he's better than the other options but he already came out and said that the only reason he's staying is the money and he's already griping about having to move to MN.

What's really ironic is that this guy was a scab during the strike and he gets all the benefits of the union contract that he crossed the line to try and break:ummm: . i.e. he gets to demand a trade, then rescind when nobody wants him.

For the sake of all the Twins fans, I hope he's better than he showed last year.

Win Twins!
