Suppossedly he's got a bad hamy. Uh, but they can't find anything wrong with him in terms of MRI or other medical procedures.
Thus, Sabien is a little pissed at him - he made some comments about his off season work ethic and fitness program.
Conte (trainer) said that the best they can do is strength conditioning and hope for the best. It sucks because basically he's an anchor in our rotation. 7-1 last season (in the second half) was HUGE for us, and he is a big part of our "win now" philosophy.
When he says he's ready to pitch, that's whenhe'll pitch. Could work out ok though, as it might push us to go get another solid arm, pushing the rookie out of the rotation when schmidt is back.
That would work just fine, IMO.

add him to the ST IR. Do you really think he was washing his truck, or was he riding that cycle of his?

Although, a motorcycle accident generally leaves you with some road rash if you try and stop yourself with you hand (not uncommon).

Yes, but it wouldn't surprise me if this was just a careless thing...
A good friend of mine cracked his wrist riding his motorcycle by falling over at a stoplight. He just lost his balance...he was thinking of other things....anyway, the weight of the bike added to the way he landed broke his wrist - no road rash.
I wouldn't be surprised to hear it was something like that.
I really don;t care about how it happened - I just hope he's good to go in a couple of weeks, and that it doesn't affect his season.
Wrists are crucial for a batter's swing - Kent is a crucial part of the Giants offense. if he fails to recover, we have problems.

as much as I always thought that Jason Schmidt was a good pitcher when healthy, he has always been.. what would you call it.. maybe a WUSS!! He lacks the mental and physical toughness the majority of the time. It used to drive us Pirate fans insane.

Yeah - but he did go 7-1 down the stretch, so if he can perform like that for a season, he can be the biggest wussie on the planet & I'll root for the guy. He has great stuff!

oh I don't blame you.. but the kind of wussiness I am talking about is the kind that causes him to miss starts... meaning he won't be able to do that over an entire season.
