I do believe this is 7 in a row, yes I do. And Bordy went 2 for 3. And Jason Johnson is looking very, very cool, getting the job done, and Melvin Mora came into the game for his first game since breaking his finger in Venezuela, and he got a hit!

The O's are on MSG tonight, playing the Mets... :uhoh: I'll be torn... rooting for the Mets, but hoping Bordy and the O's have a good game...

Hmmmmm. It could be PBP time right here at this Forum tonight!

Johnson mows down Expos

JUPITER, Fla. -- The first three Baltimore batters of the game reached base and scored, sending the Orioles on their way to a 5-2 win Thursday over the Expos.
Britt Reames initially struggled in his second start for Montreal, allowing a walk and a pair of singles to Jerry Hairston, Chris Singleton, and Mike Bordick in the top of the first before Tony Batista hit a two-run double with two out to provide Baltimore with all the offense it needed.

Reames then settled down to retire the next 11 batters he faced, striking out four of them.

Jason Johnson was dominant in his four innings of work for the Orioles, allowing just two hits and no walks while striking out five.

Baltimore extended its lead to 5-0 in the top of the ninth against reliever Joe Davenport with two runs -- one earned -- that came following an error and two wild pitches. Montreal countered with their lone runs of the contest in the bottom of the inning against Sidney Ponson, who pitched five innings overall.

With the victory, the Orioles raised their Spring record to 9-5-1 overall. The Expos dropped to 7-8-2, losing both their Thursday games on the day by a combined score of 11-2. They lost 6-0 to the Cardinals in an afternoon game.

Orioles notes: Utilityman Melvin Mora, who broke his left ring finger while playing winter ball in Venezuela, saw his first game action of the spring when he came in as a pinch-runner for Mike Bordick in the sixth inning. He stayed in the game at shortstop and singled in his lone at-bat in the eighth.

Expos notes: Newly-acquired 3B Chris Truby complemented a successful offensive display Wednesday with an impressive defensive one Thursday. With Baltimore runners aboard in both the sixth and seventh innings with one out, Truby made highlight-reel efforts to start 5-4-3 and 5-6-3 double plays on tough ground balls from Tony Batista and Sidney Ponson. He did make one error, however, on a Geronimo Gil grounder in the ninth.
