- San Diego Padres pitcher Jake Peavy is
expected to miss his scheduled start on Sunday due to an upper respiratory
infection.

Peavy is 5-0 with a 2.37 ERA in 11 starts this season. He has struck out 78
batters in 76 innings, allowing 57 hits and walking just 13.

Woody Williams is expected to be activated off the disabled list and start for
Peavy on Sunday in the finale of a four-game set against the Chicago Cubs at
PETCO Park.

The Peavster is due to pitch tonite after having lost 9lbs from being sick. I was listening to the Padres radio station today while at work and they said that the Peavster is looking much better and hopefully will be strong enough to go 5 innings. His stamina will come into question at this point.
