Tonight.
I'm going out on a limb and saying it'll be Torre. But I'm intending on jumping from the limb, so take that for what its worth :)

If by fired you mean "flame broiled" then yes, I think someone is.
I'll just grill the whole team. Hey, these are hard times, you can't be choosy.
 I say Randy gets whacked. and by "whacked," I mean "hit over the head with some large object with obvious harmful intentions."
oh god this is depressing :(

I doubt Torre will get fired. Trust me, he won't.

mel will be the first gone, followed by mattingly if the offense doesnt start becoming more consistent and then probably cashman

My 2 cents...
If anyone goes, here's my order...
Mel first. I don't agree with it because he has 4 veteran players in the 5 man rotation who should know how to pitch by now. What can he really do to help Randy Johnson? Not much... But Rookie Pitcher Wang is doing pretty good and could actually benefit from Mel. When it comes down to it though, I think Mel is the most expendable.
Cashman makes some good moves, but he also makes some BAD moves. I don't think he's safe.
Joe Torre is definitely not safe. I know he just resigned this year for 2 or 3 years, but when your team loses what, 10 out of 12? you're head is on the chopping block. When he's gone, look for Bucky Dent to be brought up from Columbus. Joe Girardi isn't ready yet...yet!
Donnie Baseball will be with the team for along time to come and probably become Manager at some point (I can dream!)

One thing the Yankees have is loyalty and class. They won't get rid of Torre, as much as I want them to, they won't. He's a terrible manager. Let Girardi effin manage, he's better then Joe.

see what winning championships does? torre won a hell of a lot of world series for you guys, and now that you've had 1 (just one!) somewhat mediocre series you want him fired already? There are far worse managers in the league than Joe Torre, and how can you blame him for errors made on the field, or mediocre pitching? He can only do so much, then the players have to step up and do the rest.

Well I've wanted Torre gone for a while. I can't blame him for the errors, but I'll blame him for killing our bullpen, his constant favoring of any veteran over every young kid, and some of his dumbass lineups (i.e. yesterday's game).
But I want Mel gone first before he kills Tiger Wang :)
I hope Cashman doesn't get fired :(.

I'm shocked to hear that some want Torre fired..
I would think Cashman would be on the top of a lot of fans lists.. He's the one that put together this old team and depleted the Yanks farm system...

I blame George for depleting the farm system and for the age of the current team. IMO if Cashman had the power that every other GM has to make moves and mold his team, the Yanks would look very different :)

I agree with you Datch...People tend to forget the good when things are bad...Torre won what..4 WS managing and everybody wants him fired cuz we're pretty much sucking right now...sorry but that's just wrong...if this team turns it around..it can still happen..will you be wanting Torre fired then?

I like Torre and don't want to see him fired, but what I would like to see is more aggressive baseball. I know a lot of that is up the the players, but he's making most of the calls.
I think we need to steal more bases. Make the other team work. Keep them guessing. Seems like the only time we steal is when we're winning 8-0 (I'm exaggerating, but it sure seems like it...). And we need to get more aggressive pitchers. Batters FEARED Clemens. If you hit one of our players and the Rocket was pitching that day, you know you just got one of your teammates plunked. I'm not talking about head shots, but nothing wrong with tucking one up into the ribs. That's always one of the things that has shocked me about Torre. He played in the day when Pitchers protected their players. I think it's sad that our most feared player is Paul Quantrill. Johnson is supposedly intimidating, but I haven't seen that yet.
Anyway, more aggression. More intensity. Win or Lose, they need to crank it up a notch and Torre should be the one to make that happen.

torre isnt the problem. but when you have a shitty starting staff like the yankees had the past two years, you gotta ride the pen a lot harder.

Exactly what we need. Clemens wouldn't take any crap from anyone. We need somone like him, a Roger Clemens, or a Carlos Zambrano like pitcher. They're not afraid to hit any body, and when they do, it proves a point.

Oh, and Torre has no idea of how to manufacture a run. That's how the Yankees won in the late 90s. Bunting, stealing, clutch RISP hitting.

He was the manager when the Yanks were doing that in the 90's...
They hardly stole any bases last year and won the division...
Torre steals when he has players to work with like Knobby and Soriano... Torre doesnt have the same kind of team to manufacture runs like he used to.. Instead he has power type hitters... He also has nothing to do with the way his team hits with RISP...
I really dont see Torre as the problem, and thats from an outsider looking in... I think he is working the best as he can with what he has been dealt...
I am also not convinced that Cashman isnt mostly responsible for depleting the farm system.. George may have had some influlence but I still think Cashman had a lot to do with it...

The power hitters such as Sheffield, Matsui, Giambi, and Tino Martinez need to be aggressive on the plate and produce the numbers like A-Rod does.
B. Williams's time is up, I think....
I am hoping that the second half of the season, those power hitters will turn things around and get on fire and kick asses! :uzi: I mean, they get fat contracts and they aren't doing their job as they're supposed to.
Womack is worthless piece of ****, but we have nothing right now so he will do it for at the moment.
IMO, Torre, Mattingly, Mel S. and Cashman ought to do a better job or make an adjustments to make things go better.

The Giambi we have is barely a power hitter...:(
Tino looks done. Take out those 10 days of crazy hitting, and he's had a horrible year.
We should have never signed Womack.
Cashman can't do anything; there's no flexibility with the age and contracts of this team.
$200 million doesn't go as far as it used to eh? :(
