In an outcome I was hoping for all along Mike Tyson lost his match to the Irish boxer Kevin McBride. Don't mess with the Irsih
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Little known Irishman Kevin McBride scored a stunning sixth-round technical knockout of former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in a non-title bout on Saturday.
Tyson's corner requested referee Joe Cortez stop the bout after before the seventh round with Tyson slumped on his stool.
The 32-year-old McBride, who has now won his last eight fights, improved his record to 33-4-1 with 28 knockouts.
Tyson saw his record fall to 50-6 with 44 knockouts after losing three of his last four contests.
However, the 38-year-old earned $5 million for the fight while McBride collected $150,000.
The 6ft 6ins, 271-pound McBride was seven inches taller and 38 pounds heavier than his opponent.
"This win was for the pride of Ireland," McBride said
