The Brewers already have signed 11 players from the 2005 draft, conducted Tuesday and Wednesday. Chief among the signings are fourth-round pick Matt Gamel, a third baseman from Chipola (Fla.) Junior College, sixth-rounder Steve Hammond, a left-hander from Long Beach State, and seventh-rounder Michael Brantley, an outfielder from Fort Pierce (Fla.) High School.

The Brewers' first-round pick, Miami third baseman Ryan Braun, had his season come to an end Saturday when the Hurricanes were eliminated in the NCAA Super Regionals by Nebraska. That means the Brewers will begin negotiations with Braun this week, with hopes of signing him quickly.
