Meyers, in his ninth year of professional baseball, spent the 2004 season with St. Lucie, Norfolk and Binghamton in the New York Mets organization, going 4-5 with a 6.36 ERA in 51 games, including 11 starts, at the high class-A, double-A and triple-A levels.

The right-hander was originally selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 26th round of the 1997 draft. He was released by Chicago in May of 2002 and re-signed with the organization one month later. Meyers signed with the Mets as a free agent in January, 2004. He was signed as a free agent by Milwaukee in February of 2005.

Meyers previously spent time in the Southern League with West Tenn in 1999 and 2000, compiling a 9-2 record in 14 starts with the Cubs double-A affiliate.
