I disagree. Womack alone may have cost the Yanks two runs by taking ten years to get balls out of his glove. Granted the Cubbies did hit the ball hard, but several of the big hits were groundballs that fell into holes. I think I remember two run-scoring hits being so close to outs: Jeter was one step from getting one and both A-Rod and Jeter were one step from getting the other.

Either way, Pavano (and, for that matter, every other Yankee pitcher) will be in big trouble if he can't get strikeouts. If you rely on this defense you're screwed.
