Besides the good brats and great ballpark, what will be the best thing to look forward to at Miller Park this year?
Will Jeffery Hammonds produce? Geoff Jenkins remain healthy? So many question marks at so many positions and that's before looking at the pitching staff. It's still spring so I always look for the positive...Neugabauer (sp?), Sheets, Rusch and Rigdon all show up and stay healthy...Tyler Houston gets 450 plus at bats at third...Ochoa and Stairs combine for 40 dingers in right (could happen!), EY steals 30 bases and Sexson shortens his swing just enough to have another monster season...If the Brewers make .500 I'm a happy camper...Hard to see them winning over 82 with the Cubs, St. Louis and Houston around but 4th place should be attainable...Anyone???:hmm:

Losing Burnitz won't be that big a loss. Went to enough games last year to see that he was swinging for the fences all day long...Wasn't lazy but not playing to win...:Like far too many players he appeared to be maintaining stats..Yucch.
Would love to see the Brewers pull a 'Twins' out of their hats and play the spoiler all year. Lopes strikes me as a good guy to lead them.
This also get's me to revenue sharing...I'd love to see more players playing to win first...The Yankees win because they play impressive team ball. Small market teams know they have no chance and often play for stats and the next big contract. Gary Sheffield is what happens. Kills me that he admitted to playing lousy to get out of Milwaukee, but not picking on him. He was just being more honest than most.

If dollars are relatively close from market to market then maybe we can start seeing some really exciting team play again. The New York markets will always pay more because of television contracts and promotional money to be made but my idealism hopes that a more competitive balance financially will keep more players content with their current teams and winning games might become important again. Feel free to flame my wishful thinking, just would love to see a hit and run single to the opposite field scoring a guy from first to win a game again. The longball saturation level has been reached. I like scoring but 6-4 is more fun than 12-10 in my book. Brings defense, pitching and small ball offense back into the game.;)
