There are ants all over the floor and I can't figure a way to get rid of them. I used cinnamin, heard it was good. Whats the best way to get rid of these freakin ants?

I know about sprays and stuff, but I have pets in the house, thats the problem. I'm looking to use something my dogs won't go to. Something in the house I can use.

Go to a home improvement store and get some ant killer to spread on the outside of the house. Dogs stay away from it and it gets rid of ants.

stomp em! seriously though, some raid wont do any harm. keep the dogs away for about an hour afterwards (just cordon the area off). you'll be fine (dogs are strong!)

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago...this really works so don't laugh...go out and buy a box of Bounce fabric soft sheets and put them around the base boards..one or two in the shelves..and outside around the house..swear to God, haven't seen one ant since I did it!

Babs........ :lmao:

Seriously, though, until I remembered you had dogs, I thought I'd pass on my idea....... it might work even if you do have dogs.

Take a look and find out where they're coming from........ they usually travel in long trails back to the queen.... where the nest is. If they're coming from the outside, Shad probably has a good idea. Mine were coming from inside the walls. I put down some Terro........ you put a glob on a little piece of paper...... and they all swarm onto it and carry it back to the queen and it kills her......... and they all die. What I did, was, once they established that trail, I followed it to see where they were coming from and when I found that, I sprayed ant and bug-killer spray into that crack in the ceiling or the wall, or whatever.

But if you put Terro up on a counter or something, I bet they'll find it. Are your dogs big enough to reach the counter?

But, dealing with ants in a big apartment building is different than in a house, I guess.

If they are coming from the outside and you live in a house or an apartment on the ground floor then yes you want some Ant Killer Granules. You can get them at Home Depot, Wal Mart or somewhere like these places. A big bag will cost about 6 bucks. (around here anyway) But you sprinkle some all around the house on the ground, cracks of sidewalks and such. Then if you find a hill in your yard or anywhere sprinkle some on the hill. Not that much on the hill just a pinch should do it.

The Cinnamon doesnt work or it didnt work here. I tryed some of it also because of my dogs and a few other of those quick easy fixes and none of them worked. Got sick of messing aroung with the damm things so I went for the big killing. I have ants every year and every year I have to kill them. Some of the fun of living outside of town :D But the granules smell so freaking bad that dogs most of the time want nothing to do with them. Mine run when they see me pulling out a cup. And I got one dog that will eat anything also. The dumb ass digs up my fertilizer sticks for trees to eat and then he is barfing all over. It is the salt he wanted so I pound them in the ground and put a small piece of a cow salt block over top of them so he thinks he got the stick and gets his salt without puking all over.....
