The Orioles tandem of second baseman Brian Roberts and shortstop Miguel Tejada will make up the starting middle infield for the American League All-Star team on July 12 in Detroit.
Both players were picked as starters at their respective positions in voting by fans.
Roberts, the American League player of the month for April, will head to the All-Star game for the first time. He leads the AL with a .360 batting average heading into Sunday's game and has hit 14 home runs - 10 more than his previous career high.
Tejada, whose .322 average ranks fifth in the AL, will make his third All-Star appearance, having also represented the AL in 2002 and 2004. He has 19 home runs and 60 RBIs, fifth in the American League, and beat out New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter in the voting.
The rest of the American League starting lineup includes four Boston Red Sox - outfielders Manny Ramirez and Johnny Damon, catcher Jason Varitek and DH David Ortiz - Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, Angels outfielder Vladimir Guerrero and Texas Rangers first baseman Mark Teixeira, an Annapolis native.
The starters for the National League are outfielders Bobby Abreu (Phillies), Jim Edmonds (Cardinals) and Carlos Beltran (Mets), Mets catcher Mike Piazza, Dodgers second baseman Jeff Kent, Cardinals shortstop David Eckstein, Cardinals third baseman Scott Rolen and Cubs first baseman Derrek Lee, who edged Albert Pujols of St. Louis.
Orioles closer B.J. Ryan, who has 18 saves and a 1.67 ERA, was also selected.
