Jay Payton was designated for assignment today. Odd, since Damon is getting the night off. Either, Theo has lost it, or a deal is in the works.

Hey, I was just thinking about that "someone" to take over for Payton. I don't know how it slipped my mind. Kapler. They said they were trying to get him back in Boston.

Payton whined when he was with the Mets. I won't be sad not to have to watch him with the Sox anymore. I could never stand him. He thinks very highly of himself -- more highly than his numbers warrant.

Payton didn't like where he was hitting in the order Tuesday night. Payton yelled at Francona in the dugout. Francona was livid. He called Theo during the game and said I want this f*ckhead GONE. Theo said your call.

Payton showered, got on the team plane and was told to get hisself and his luggage off the team plane and find a way home. He was no longer a Red Sock. :banana:
