He's become an ass and a distraction ala Nomah 2004. You would get good value for him. We aren't going to re-sign him.

There would be bunches of suitors. I'd do it.

I would have to agree with you on this one. Only because, he is on his last year of his contract. And his value wont be any higher than it is right now. Hes HOT right now, riding a 22 game hitting streak. And currently has the third best batting average in the AL. I say trade his ass.

Me too Bob. He's banged up, and had a killer 1st half. You can't expect that to continue. He ususally ends up hitting .300. So, you can expect him to hit .270 the rest of the way. Also, he has ZERO power this year.

I know Florida is frustrated with Juan Pierre. I trade Damon and one of our cherry prospects like Ramirez, for Burnett and Pierre.

Get it done Theo. :smokin:

I would like to see that happen. Pierre for Damon. I like that. However, I dont know about getting rid of Ramirez. If he can make the switch over to 2nd, that would be awesome. That way we can get rid of Belhorn, even though Belhorn has to be one of my favorites. Hes the most quiet on the team. :)

I don't know....Johnny Damon is BY FAR the best leadoff hitter in baseball. I don't think I want to see him traded. If we had no shot at the playoffs, then fine, trade him. But we are defending a title and have a real shot to repeat, and I don't think it's worth the risk trading away the best leadoff hitter in the game.

Just my 38 cents...

Right now he is Babs, I just don't see it continuing. He is too injured. And too stupid. I'd do it for A.J. and Pierre, not for anything less.

Babs, twice in one day! I really can't think that trading Johnny will help the Sox repeat. The team's not struggling because of him. They're struggling because of the starting rotation and the bullpen.

Damon will get put in his place by Francona and schilling i'm sure. The dude is a stud, and he gonna play through the pain. He said he would take a 4 year deal with the sox as opposed to a 5/6 year deal with anyone else...and he's what, 31? he should be able to last a while still.
