Poor Lee Mazzilli is left saying things like, "Sidney's a guy who gives up some hits", and "it seems like he always has to grind it out"...... duh. :hmm: Well, I guess he can't sit there during a press conference and say, "I wish we would trade his sorry ass. Everytime his spot comes around in the rotation I cringe and expect a loss, which is just what we don't need right now, but I just wish he were SOMEPLACE ELSE!" He can't really say that, I guess.
Geez. And the fact that this wonderful lineup isn't hitting right now isn't helping anything either.

I just wish they'd win a few games.

It snowballs a bit and guys' confidence isn't quite as high. I just think if we knock out a couple wins, we can get rolling again."
And Raffy. The guy is within 5 hits of 3000, and last night he passed Reggie Jackson in lifetime homeruns, getting his 564th, moving him to 9th place, and he says it's nice, but it doesn't mean that much to him if they're not winning. He's a team guy, and that's all he's concerned about now.
Palmeiro needs five hits to reach 3,000, and he has two more games to reach the milestone at home before the All-Star break and a three-city road trip.
"I just want to get it over with so we can stop talking about it," he said. "It's nice, but we just lost a game and we're still talking about it. That's not right."
3rd place. We're in freakin' 3rd place.
