New Rumor: Millar for Qualls?

According to Newsday, Red Sox first baseman Kevin Millar maybe headed to Houston in a deal for reliever Chad Qualls.

I hope not. Qualls is just starting to come around and we need him in our bullpen far more than we need Millar in our batting order (unless Houston's also working on a deal for more relief as well).

Qualls is no great shake. He's pretty much John Halama 2.

pretty much so. but still. they need all the bullpen arms they can get in houston. and its not like qualls is great, but he is servicable and much more to be desired than millar

I think the Sox just want to move Millar. They'll try to get whatever they can for moving him. Like we did with Nomar, but Millar is no Nomar in trade value. I expect Millar to be in another uniform come the trading deadline. :hmm:

Might as well take a shot with Qualls, eh? Not like we could get any worse. :tongue:
