that's what francona said when explaining why he didn't play Olerud or Mueller. Mueller has bad knees apparently, so him playing 2nd base would not be desirable. I understand wanting to see Cora hit since from what Terry said he's here for the long term but...in the bottom of the ninth, with the bases loaded against MARIANO RIVERA is not a time to see him hit.

no way could mueller play 2nd for any period of time. his knees are pretty shot.

Yeah, pretty much. Last year at the deadline, we dumped Nomar and added OC, Alpha Boy, and Dave Roberts. This year (so far) we added Alex Cora and some reliever whose name I can't remember.

you noticed this now, after how many months that i've had it up? i've been looking for a new avatar anyway, so it should be gone shortly :)

was it a duquette thing still? i thought manny came after theo took the job...

Yes, it was a Duke thing. Theo wouldn't have paid $160 mill for that stiff.
