...sucks big, green, slime-dripping diseased ones!
Bang-bang play at 1B, really close, but I don't fault him for calling Chilly Willy out. Like Deshaies said, those close calls are going to happen. But when Taveras dumps his helmet on the ground in protest, that is NOT an automatic ejection like Iassogna made it! Damn! What about the two Pirates hitters in Game 2 last night (one was Lawton) who flipped their bats away in disgust after striking out?! I hope Garner let him know what a slime Iassogna was before the loser umpire ejected Skippy.
I've got Iassogna down for screwing with us several times since I first saw him back in 2000. He's a joke when it comes to umpires! Should be booted out along with Bagel-Butt Froemming, Dale Scott and CB Bucknor.

Gar did get some words in. If you listened real close you could here him saying, "you're f---ing wrong".

My language was a bit over the top, wasn't it? I apologize for the over-reaction, but I'm still madder than a hornet at Iassogna. Deshaies also made another comment about it saying that Iassogna giving Taveras the quick thumb was the same as when NBA refs call a real quick technical on a player who protests after the ref just made a bad call and knows he made a bad call. I don't watch the NBA very much at all, but I think I know what Deshaies meant. Taveras could've said something, the proverbial magic word, perhaps, while he was throwing his helmet for all I know today. But even Jose Cruz got into it a bit, and he has rarely, as a coach or as a player, argued with an umpire.
The best part was we had a big inning after that when the score was just 1-0.

Yeah, I was more upset after seeing the replay. Taveras was clearly safe and I hate it when people overreact after they screwed up. When I was a volleyball ref I screwed up from time to time, but you didn't see me baiting the coach or issuing yellow cards.

In case y'all missed it, Iassogna was at it again on Thursday, showing off his horrible umpire skills at the Twins-Tigers game in Detroit. Iassogna was behind the plate and ruled a Craig Monroe deep foul off Johann Santana to be a home run. It's a tough call and a close call, once again, but the replays clearly show the ball bending into foul territory. Iassogna never once asked his 3B ump (Ron Kulpa) for any help on the call, just arrogantly decides he's right and justice be damned!
When Minnesota's Brad Radke starts arguing the bad call from the bench, Iassogna tosses him. You could read Radke's lips on the highlights last night: "You effing got it wrong!"
Iassogna has to go, there's just no reason to keep a bad umpire around, especially one who is confrontational and arrogant with such a quick thumb when it comes to ejections. You did get it f---ing wrong, Iassogna. Be a man and own up to your mistakes you yellow-bellied, big green donkey dong blowing fool! :gripe:

This man can rant can't he :) Hey, the line of bad umps is pretty darn long. I remember someone saying they got 97% of calls right. Huh? I guess they don't count balls and strikes.
