Scott Hatteberg is the hottest hitter in the A's camp. So far he is hitting .467 with a slugging pecentage of .833 . Art Howe's job just got tougher, but I'm sure he doesn't mind. Looks like nobody wants to ride the pine in Oakland.

Scott Hatteberg went 3-for-5 with a home run and 7 RBI today against the Giants.
Hatteberg has dramatically outhit Carlos Pena this spring, but we'd be shocked if Pena isn't Oakland's first baseman on Opening Day. Since he still qualifies at catcher, Hatteberg does have some value in AL-only leagues, but don't expect more than 200-250 at-bats.

Luckily I jumped on the Hatteburg bandwagon. At least to start the year Scott will see significant playing time at 1st, catcher, and DH.
Carlos Pena had another rough day, going 0-for-3 and committing an error. He is 1-for-20 his past eight games and is hitting .150.
It's getting a little uncomfy for Pena owners now... Source: Contra Costa Times

Oakland's Scott Hatteberg entered Sunday's game against visiting Milwaukee batting a team-high .450 with a team-high .825 slugging percentage, a team-high .511 on-base percentage and a team-high 33 total bases. He was second on the team with four homers and 13 RBIs.

Then he went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and a double. Now he's the team's co-leader in homers and RBIs as well, and he's 10-for-20 in his past six games. Exciting for the A's? Sure. Gratifying for Hatteberg? Of course.

He has had a few great springs. But come Opening Day, HE SUCKS! He cannot, scratch that, HAS NOT, thrown out a runner in 4 years.

He will strand 300 runners on base, mark my words. Sorry, the guy is a BUST.

Hey Fulla

I own Pena in my auction keeper league. I have no plans for him to be great right now, but I'm hopefull for next year.
