Big Hurt Goes on DL

White Sox DH Frank Thomas was placed on the 15-day DL(retroactive to July 21) due to inflammation in his left ankle.It's the same ankle that he had surgery on last year.

His ankle had never been 100% since his surgery to repair a fractured navicular bone in his ankle.

Thomas is the all-time White Sox home run leader with 448.He was hitting .219 this season with 12 homers and 26 RBIs in 105 at-bats in 34 games.

Hopefully he will be 100% recovered before he returns, I am thinking that he should lose some weight so it won't be much of burden on his ankle.

I agree.At 270 pounds,all that weight goes on that ankle when he plants it on his swing.That puts a huge strain on it to begin with.
