Good move by Phil. I think it was stupid to dump Nevin in the first place.
I know my friend, yagsy will be thrilled and when she is happy, I am happy.

Nevin was interviewed today on the radio this morning and he was so classy about it. He answered the tough questions, he has always been a standup guy when it comes to the media, often screening his teammates who didn't want to talk. This is why he is revered by his teammates including Hoffy.
Some of the deciding factors into why he decided to stay:
1) Main reason - his kids He relayed a cute story about his 8yr old son, "Daddy, I hate the Dodgers, but if you have to leave, can't you get them to move you to the Dodgers? At least you could come home alot more" How can anyone debate that? Nevin was concerned about being on the East Coast, not only for two months but Spring Training for a month and half and then all next season. If it was only this season, he would surely have agreed to go. Nothing against the city of Baltimore or the organization, just too far from home.
2) San Diego is his home - "San Diego will always be my home, even after I retire. I love this city, I love the fans and I will work hard and do whatever it takes to help this team win. I love being a Padre". How can you not love that?
3) His teammates - Many came up to him in the clubhouse before Sunday's game to tell him to stay. Hoffman in particular, told Nevin that he IS a Padre and that he had every right to be with the Padres and win with the Padres.
And quite frankly, if Hoffman feels that Nevin should be with the team, who the bleep am I to argue?
What is happening is interesting behind the scenes. What is happening is that Alderson has given Kevin Towers a deadline to dump some salary any way he could. KT prolly thought that Nevin would agree to going to a contending club with a great lineup and some serious promise. And now watch for KT to get fired before the start of the winter meetings in Dec.
LET'S GO NEVIN!!!!
LET'S GO PADRES!!!!!
