The Astros must've been the recipients of some alien intervention as well, but on the positive side. Not sure the Astros have anything you'd call "hard hitting," but they are possessed by some winning spirit right now.

Chin up, Nanneroo. Still plenty of time for any team to come back down to earth, so to speak, and put together a nice closing stretch. It's been a freaky season already, don't expect it not to end even stranger.

I hope you're right, Willie. Actually, nobody predicted that the Orioles would be in 1st place for 62 days at the beginning of the season............ and that was, indeed, strange goings-on. :eek:

I want to think they'll turn it around. It's just so tough to take, when you've seen the good stuff, and want that all the time.

It'd be different if they started out sucking and had a few good weeks, and then went back to sucking.......... then the expectations aren't as high.

They teased me, and then threw me back down to earth. :(
