The White Sox officially released relief pitcher Shingo Takatsu today.

The 36-year-old Takatsu was designated for assignment on July 18th,and was sent to AAA-Charlotte 10 days later.

He was 1-2 this season with a 5.97 ERA(19 ER in 28.2 IP) and 8 saves in 31 relief appearances.

In 2004,Takatsu led the White Sox with 19 saves.

I think the Mets need to get him.

Mets need a setup guy for Shingo. The ageless Roberto Hernandez has been a godsend, but odds are that he won't be that good next year.
