I have a co-worker that is an O's fan. He said they hate Mazzili in Baltimore. They feel he has no baseball sense, and that they won in spite of him. :notme:

doesnt every fan hate their manager at times? seems like new yorkers hate joe torre, too many cubs fans hate dusty and you guys dont seem overly thrilled with Francona very often.

I've never liked Mazzilli, but i also thought he was doing a pretty good job. If they wouldn't of gotten off to such a great start, he'd probably still have his job.

A lot of people don't like Dusty Baker in Chicago. :P

I doubt that. Mazzilli would have been in the hot seat if the team played like this in the begin of the year. If they sucked big time early in the season, he probably would have been fired when the Reds manager was fired a few months back.
Also, seem players weren't happy with Mazzilli lately. Even Tejada wasn't happy with Mazzilli.
Not to be rude, but this probably the worst week I have ever seen a team have since I've been watching baseball since 95.

Great. Just great. Just the perfect topper for a sh*tty couple of weeks.
I've always been of the opinion that it's not the manager's fault if a team sucks.
As a friend on another website said, "Maybe Sam will be able to pitch and hit better than Lee did."
It sucks. This team sucks. They've lost their heart.
I'll be amazed if Sam Perlozzo is the ingredient that will turn this team around. I doubt if he is.
At least all those fans on other Orioles' boards who were crying for Maz's head will be happy now and finally shut the f*ck up. Let's see how long that lasts.

Yeah. They won. Yippee-skippee. Wahoo. :hmm:
Get back to me when they win 10 in a row and are back battling for 1st place.
I'm a little bitter. Can ya tell?

It's too bad Maz got fired. He shouldn't have been fired. This wasn't suprising considering Angelos has never been a big Maz fan and Orioles fans has been whining about him because he is a Yankee as Nanner attested.
I thought he did a good job in his time here. I really did. He will definitely land on his feet. I wouldn't mind him manage the Twins for sure.
I will give the Orioles credit though. At least they are being proactive instead of sitting in their thumbs like the Twins do. I wonder if the O's have interest in Gardenhire. I think he would be a great fit. Here's hoping the Orioles give Gardenhire a contract that he could not refuse so that he can get out of Minnesota.
I wish Mazz the best of luck.
I've always been of the opinion that it's not the manager's fault if a team sucks.
I agree with this logic. But, I don't believe this was the case dealing with Mazzili.
Mazzili was having problems with the player. Mazzili was not the manager that management want to hire. Management need a vaild reason to fire him and with the way the O's have been playing, they got that reason. I'm not hating on Mazzili or even going to blame him for what happen to the team.
The team just died. If they want to place blame, then place blame on the offense that decide to die during July. I knew their pitching was going to go down, but they just stop hitting during July, which led to their downfall. Every offense player decide to suck at the same time, except Sosa.
If Mazzili having problem with the players, then it might be best he let go.
Orioles fans has been whining about him because he is a Yankee as Nanner attested.
Those fans are ignorant. Mazzili is Mazzili. Doesn't not matter where he was before that. I could careless what fans think in that regard. What I care about if the manager and the players are getting along. Since they have to work together.
At least they are being proactive instead of sitting in their thumbs like the Twins do.
Firing a manager being proactive? I thought being proactive is making trades before the deadline, like the O's didn't do again. O's management has never been know for pulling the trigger and losing out on some very good players.

Well, they have lost 25 of 32. I think.
