Wanna know why I am little down on this organization, TC. Tom Powers article today says it all. I read a column from Tom Powers (my favorite columnist of all the columnists in the Twin Cities) today about the hitters. He talked about how there may not be the light in the end of the tunnel for our hitters. I agree with him. I have lost faith in Cuddyer altogether. Who knows what has happened to Lew Ford? Man if there was a guy that has been a complete mystery, it's been to Lew. He is playing like Lecrap nowadays. Last year, he took great at-bats and he knew how to found holes. He hasn't done that lately. He is too good to play like this. Lecrap is a lost cause. Who knows what Bartlett is going to do? Terry Tifee stinks. Who knows what Jason Kubel will do after his injury? My money is on him struggling.

If anyone has any faith about the minors, think again. Guys like Plouffe, Moses, Span, Garrett Jones, and others are as bad as the current hitters in the big club. If they were that good, they would be here right away.

If anyone thinks this is just a fluke, please don't think that way. This could get worse before it can get even better. I hate to be negative about this, but I see nothing to think that there would be a light at the end. The hitting already cost the team this season and odds are that they will finish the year below .500 because of the hitting. Next year, it could give us fourth or last place in the division with the way it looks.

It's pretty sad.

I don't know where you get your information, but you are completely wrong about Moses. The guy is a hitting machine. That comes from opposing scouts, not just the Twins.

This organization has a recent history of putting competative teams on the field, now because of ONE year, you figure they suck and should purge the team and start over. Thank goodness you're not in charge or the team might never win another game, because every time they lost a game you'd have a knee jerk reaction and bench someone, cut someone, or send them to the minors. Every player would spend their time looking over their shoulder and praying for the day they could get out of here.

The Twins organization is in this for the long haul and that's the way it should be. Yes, they need to overhaul some of the roster, but it would be stupid to trade the guys who can actually play the game for prospects who may or may not ever make it to the big leagues.

TC: Well I am getting this information from Tom Powers. Powers cited concerns about the problems that is going on with the hitters at the minor league level hence why I decided to write this thread. He makes great points too. When was the last time the Twins develop a hitter since Kirby and Kent left? Wasn't Walker supposed to be good? Wasn't Denny Hocking supposed to be a HR hitter? Wasn't Sears supposed to be a HR machine? Wasn't Sthoviak be a 30-30 guy? Wasn't Scott Leius supposed to man the hot corner for the next 20 years? Wasn't Dave McCarthy and Marty Cordova supposed to lead the Twins past the post-Kirby and Kent era? They all flopped despite high expectations hency why I am so concerned that things may not work out down the road. There is no gurantee that those guys in the minors will do well in the majors when you look at the team's history of hitters who have been a colossal dissapointment. I have my reasons to be concerned as I cited some of the failures.

Yes the last three years were great, but let's remember the division stunk too. White Sox got lot of lazy guys back then. Now they finally got their heads off their butt and finally started playing baseball this year. Indians decided to rebuild in recent years and now they are going to get better and better. Tigers have improved big time and they may contend next year after being very bad for years. Royals are the Royals, but I think they will be better next year. The division has improved hence why I am worried next year might be even worse.

Trading Torii and Shannon wouldn't be a bad idea at all. We could get lot of players for those two and we can build around those players. Twins desperately need guys who can hit. Why not find out who they can get in return? This team can not go through with the same team next year. No possible way.

Thank God I am not the GM because I even know the franchise would stink under my guidance. With that said, there is a reason why the Red Sox, Angels, Yankees, Braves, Cardinals, White Sox, and the A's do well every year. They change. When someone stinks, the team corrects itself and dump the guy. They make sure everyone is accountable. The NBA's Spurs make lot of changes too even when they win championships. I admire franchises like that. That's what proactive organizations do. They make changes. When someone underacheives, he is gone. That's sports for ya. There is no way Kyle Lohse, Joe Mays, J.C. Romero, Matthew Lecroy, Denny Hocking, Pat Mahomes, and other stiffs who stunk would have stayed had they played for ballclubs I cited. Fans would drive them out of town for their ineptitude. That's why I always rip McHale when I talk to you. This guy sits in hands and go fishing while every NBA team make moves. Then you wonder why the Wolves are out in the first round every year. I want to see teams do something about it when the team stinks.

Durango: Tom Powers was citing concern. He wasn't ripping a team going bad. It's a reasonable concern. Besides Powers is a huge homer for the Twins. He rarely says anything bad back then. Guys like Reusse and Sansevere are guys that rip everyone.
