It's great having Spurrier at Carolina! It seems like every other time I pick up the paper there's some big controversy surrounding him. One day he' got the S.C. High School Coaches Assn. pissed off. The next day he's denying he told two former players they would not face criminal prosecution if they confessed to stealing from the athletic department. I can't wait to see how he does and will be pulling for him right up til Nov. 19th.

But this should really be a fascinating year for Carolina. They are clearly void of talent, so if he can go 6-5 it would be a minor miricle. I have no doubt that if the SC program can be turned around, he's the one who can do it. But in the meantime, he's going to be playing with inferior talent. And he's going to be playing against a lot of SEC schools that he's been known to run the score up on over the last decade or so. It will be interesting to see if any coaches want to get some payback for their programs.
