He was the reason why the Twins won. Plain and simple. He carried this team tonight on his back. It's a damn shame that our offense is so freaking pathetic that a starter has to carry this team. It really is. It's pathetic and embrassing.
Johan was simply awesome. He is just hot. This is his time now. He is just unhittable. He made quick work on the A's all night long. He retired 18 A's batters in a row at one point. That's how awesome he was. He got lot of Ks at that game. He had 9 Ks even though it seemed like he had 12 Ks with the way he shut the A's down. He got into a big jam in the ninth, but he got out of it. With the way he carried the team tonight, I am glad he got a shot for the complete game and he got it done. Man this guy put on a show.
Twins got good defensive plays in that game like when Shannon slid to make a catch. It looked like he may have been seriously hurt, but he was okay. Thank God. That catch kept this game at 1-0.
Lew Ford played great again. Good to see his benching has light a fire on Lew. He certainly is being aggressive. He was on base a lot.
Cuddyer did alright too.
Twins win two in a row on Johan's back.
