I was listening to The Score out here this afternoon, and the midday hosts Dan Bernstein and Terry Boers were having a lively discussion on whether Carl Crawford or Joey Gathright was faster from the batters box to 3rd.
Which D-Ray do you think is faster from home to 3rd,Carl Crawford or Joey Gathright?

I remember one of them said that Crawford was faster, while the other said Gathright.
I think there was a chart that they mentioned showing that Gathright's time from the batters box to 3rd base was like 1/10 second faster than Crawford.

Gathright is fast. Very fast.
I think Gathright is faster. I won't be surprised if Gathright has more steals in the next couple of years if he continues playing how he's been playing. Gathright will get like zero home runs every year, but steal bases like a madman like Podsednik. Actually, his style of playing reminds me of Podsednik's style of playing.

Love to watch highlights of Crawford legging out triples.
And yet, despite both Gathright and Crawford hitting lefty, neither is as fast from home-to-first as Houston's Willy Taveras who comes from the right side of the plate. A recent article by Jayson Stark at ESPN.com listed the following home-to-1B times:
Taveras: 3.56
Gathright: 3.78
Crawford: 3.95-4.00
