Twins will go for the SWEEP tonight at the South Side of Chicago. I want this sweep badly. I want it in the worse way. It would mean so much for the Twins to get this win because it means the Twins would be 4-4 against the AL Central Division leaders. Plus with the A's getting swept by the Orioles today, the Twins could gain another game in the W.C. race. Twins are 4 games out of the race as I speak.
I feel real good about this sweep. Why? Because Cy-tana is pitching. Johan is on a roll right now. This is his time of the year, folks. I know he will get it done. Of course, his counterpart is the big mouth, Mark Buherle. It's always great to beat Buherle, who is the official spokesman of "I hate the Twins", club along with C.C. Sabathia. I think Mark Buherle is the Twins daddy. Twins have found ways to beat him in his last few starts including last year when the Twins clinch the division at U.S. Cellular Field and on Sunday Night Baseball at the Dome this year. I think tonight will be no different.
I expect a sweep. In fact, I am going to call it and say that the Twins will sweep the White Sox tonight and Hawk Harrelson will be crying in his beer. Speaking of Hawk, I hope he accidentally spouts "He Gone" when Johan blows somebody away.
BTW, this pitching matchup is a rematch of Sunday Night Baseball in the first week of the season. Let's hope Johan beats Buherle AGAIN.

MY GOD! HAWK ACTUALLY SAID "HE'S GONE" when Johan struck out the Sox batter to end the third.

Is it full moon tonight? Matthew Lecroy not just hit 1 home run, but he hit a second homerun. I gotta go bring a broom in the kitchen.

Sounds like Hawk Harrelson has waved the white flag for the night. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
Here's hoping Johan throws a no-no tonight. I don't think it will happen, but man that would be like rubbing salt in the wounds.

5 innings in the books
Twins are in cruise control with a 5-0 lead.
Hawk Harrelson is sad. Darrin Jackson has said nothing for the last 25 minutes.
White Sox fans are booing
With that said, the story of the night so far is Johan has a no-hitter after 5 innings. 14 batters retired in a row.

6 innings in the books.
Johan has his no-hitter intact.
I think Johan is going to throw a no-hitter tonight. I can feel it.

Twins can not afford to take it easy now. They gotta ride the pedal in the medal here.

Is Hawk on his bathroom break or something? Darrin is doing all the talking.

Lecroy when given the chance has hit the ball well all year.
I have to agree with Curt when he said that Matt should be the full time DH. It is so hard when you dont get to hit to step in and have to swing the bat and for the chances he has had this year he has done well.
But a Twins team is starting to heat up it looks like and we hope. Should be what 4 games out of the wild card now?

Hawk a smoker? That's surprising. I know he goes to the bathroom during the games. BTW, nice to see him back.
I am still not a Lecroy guy. He has done okay. I still think the Twins can do better at DH. I just hope the Twins can get some hot hitting from Lew, Matthew, and Michael Cuddyer the rest of the way though.
Twins will likely be 3 games out of the WC race with a win tonight. Cleveland, NY, and Oakland lost this evening.

Mike has been hitting very well here of late also. I hope he gets even hotter and starts to really heat up. I hope it keeps going for this is a team that a few guys have to be hitting not one guy can carry them....

Congrats on your sweep guys. This is probably the best ball that the Twins have played in a while.
See ya next week at the Dome. :wavey2:

I agree, Eric. The offense was the big reason why the Twins swept the White Sox. Simple as that. When the offense does well, the Twins do well. It's good to see Michael Cuddyer, Lew, and Matthew Lecroy have a great series. Those three men really need to continue to play like this from now to the rest of the season In a way, those guys got the arduous task of carrying the Twins. It's good to see the offense play to its potential which has not been the case this season.
Let's see if those guys have one last push in them.

Don't forget your pitching too there.Rincon was just nasty in the late innings this week.

Well the pitching has been great all year, Eric. I always rave about the pitching all season if you read my posts here. It's the offense that has really infuriated me all season. As you can see in this series, this team has the talent to hit, but they haven't put it together on a consistent basis all season long. The one thing that has mystify me is Justin Morneau. He has been bad all season. He has gotta get it going soon. This team is too good to hit this bad which is why I am calling for Scott Ulleger to be fired after the season.

Man this was simply amazing. Just seeing the Twins sweep the AL Central Division leaders is freaking awesome. These last three nights have been heaven for me and I am sure for lot of Twins fans. It's always great to see the Twins beated their hated rivals. I knew in my heart that the Twins can play with the White Sox and they can beat them. I am glad to see my faith was rewarded this week.
The story of this series has been the offense. It was great to get the big hits and the homeruns in this series. When the offense do well, Twins wins games 96% of the time. It was good to see them hit the White Sox starters, who are having great seasons, in this series. It's good to see a different scenario unlike in April where the Twins shot themselves in the foot with the bases loaded at Chicago.
How about Matty Lecroy hitting not just 1 HR, but 2 home runs in a game? Was it a full moon out there tonight? That was a great to see. Man if he ever became consistent in hitting, the Twins would really do well.
It was good to see Matty, Michael Cuddyer, and Lew Ford play well in this road trip. Those three guys will have to carry the team offensively for better or for worse. They are capable of doing that.
God how nice was it to see Buherle implode in the fifth? That was so sweet. I was just laughing especially when he was called a balk. I think after that balk, he came unglued. It's always nice when the Twins beat him. I don't like Buherle. This guy has been bashing the Twins forever so anytime the Twins beat him, it's always a great thing. I love seeing Buherle and C.C. Sabathia lose to the Twins. It pleases me to no end. Seeing Buherle curse in the dugout after he was taken out was priceless.
It's good to see who is the better pitcher once in for all. Johan just owned the White Sox all night. It would have been so nice to see him pitch a no-hitter tonight. I felt confident he would in the seventh inning, but it didn't work out. Still he was very good. That was vintage Johan out there, folks. Johan really saved the bullpen from working tonight after they labored last night. Johan was fantastic.
Hawk Harrelson showed his stupidity as usual on the White Sox telecast. He wasn't in a great mood tonight. He waved the white flag in the fourth inning. He started spewing garbage all night long. I thought John Gordon is off-topic on radio, but Hawk is even worse. He is talking golf, his playing days, and all the other garbage. He did not even seem to pay attention. How do White Sox fans love him is beyond me? What's even worse is that he went out of a bathroom break in the seventh inning and he came in the bottom of eighth inning. Could you imagine a PBP manng out for a 30-minute bathroom break on a sports telecast? That's embrassing. I felt bad for Darrin Jackson, the color analyst of the Sox games, who seemed overmatched doing a PBP.
Nice to see the Twins get a sweep as the Twins are now 4-4 against the White Sox this season. Twins showed me something in this road trip. This could have been a disasterous trip. I thought the Twins would win only one game on the road trip and that was in Seattle. I thought the A's and the Sox would clean the Twins clocks. To the Twins credit, they got the job done. To sweep the White Sox is awesome. It's great to see one AL Central team not get scared of the White Sox.
With the A's, Yankees, and the Indians are losing, Twins are now 3 games out of the WC Race. It's amazing what a difference a week makes, isn't it. I thought they were done and I am not sure if they can win the Wild Card race even now. Still it's good to see the Twins right in it and it's great to see the offense clicking with the pitching. It's great to see some of the hard work is paying off.
I hope the Twins make hay in this homestand starting tommorow night against the Mariners.
