I used his name as the title of tonight's game thread because he was the reason why the Twins won. He hit a big three-run HR to give the good guys the lead in the seventh inning. Boy Lew has really turned his dissapointing season around. Ever since Gardenhire took Lew out of the game at Seattle last week, Lew responded by playing hard and getting the big hits. You wish no player on your team have this type of problem, but sometimes a situation like that can be good for some players. Lew could have moped and whined, but he decided to keep playing and just find a way to get it done. That's what he has done. It's really good to see him do well. I hope he continues to keep playing like that.

I thought the Twins winning streak was going to be over. They were squandering scoring chances out there in the middle innings. Fortunately, Lew stepped up in the seventh.

You really have to wonder why did Mike Hargrove walked Matt Lecroy of all people? Matty has been hitting well, but I rather face him and Jacque as a pitcher. The only guys that should be walked on the Twins team are Shannon and Joe Mauer. That's it.

Matty almost had his 4th HR of the week tonight, but the ball did not go that far enough. That was a good swing right there though.

I thought everyone on the Twins had good at-bats and it was good to see them get the walks out there. Whatever Scott Ulleger is saying, I hope the players keep listening to him because it seems to work.

Carlos was good. He had one bad inning, but he kept the team in a position to win or tie the game. It was so good to see him get a win. He should be having more than 8 wins. It's a joke he got so many no-decisions. I am just glad he won tonight. I was happy for him.

Juan struggled in the eighth, but to his credit, he got the two big strikeouts.

The Nathanator did the rest.

This was a big win. Twins needed this one considering this kid, Felix Hernandez is on the mound tommorow for Seattle and the kid had his way with them. Plus Kyle is pitching for the Twins and as good as he is, I still don't trust him. This is a win that they needed. They get a gurantee split here, but the goal is to get three out of four at best. A sweep would be awesome though.

Twins are 3.5 games out. They don't gain a game since the A's beat the Royals, who have now lost 19 straight. However, the Twins gain another game in the AL Central standings with the White Sox losing to the Yankees. Twins are now 10.5 games out . Like I said, the AL Central race could get real interesting soon hence why I am not that bothered about the Yankees losing to the White Sox. Twins can have their opportunity to make it a race against the White Sox at the Dome this coming week.

I hope this euphoria continues for the Twins.

On another note, if Bert yells out "Kittie, Kittie, Kittie!" one more time when someone tells him about Jim Kaat, I will scream. Jim Kaat was in the booth for an inning and Bert would say "Kitty, Kitty, Kitty" when Dick mentioned Kaat in the TV booth. If anyone got to see Camilio Pascual talk to Dick and Bert in the booth, I hope he or she enjoys it. He told some great stories.
