In San Diego, there is a discussion on what Peavy's nickname should be. I submitted mine "the Peavster" which was well liked. I have used that forever. But there were some good ones, and would love to hear others. So what would you suggest if selecting "other"

Most San Diegoans that I know call him the Peavester so it's the Peavster.

Figures you did not like the Jake the Snake, rdr.

I read something in the Star-Ledger today about how Grace made a complete fool out of himself as he was heckling Pedro on the air with Pedro throwing a no-hitter against the D-Backs last week. I thought that was funny.
If it makes you happy, yagsy can't stand Grace, rdr.
BTW, I think the White Sox should do everything possible to hire Mark Grace to do their telecasts next year with Hawk Harrelson.

Jake Plummer doesn't deserve to have a nickname...I think that you should actually be good at the sport to get a nickname. Unless, the nickname is making fun of how bad you are....

That nickname stem from his college days at ASU, Andrew. He led ASU to lot of comeback wins and he knew how to win in crunch time back then. I always love watching Jake back in his college days. I thought he would be a good QB in the NFL, but for whatever reason, it hasn't worked out. He did good in his first year with the Cardinals, but then fizzled. I thought he would do well in the Broncos offense-friendly system, but that has not worked out either for him. I know Broncos fans want him gone.

I fully understand when and why Jake Plummer got his nickname. I also understand that he led the league in interceptions last year. I just think that he doesn't deserve a cool nickname.
His nickname should be given to Peavy.

Here is what he apparently said....
Quote:
Snyder definately. Every f##king swing that guy takes is an underwater swing.
Snyder hit a f##king grand slam off of Remlinger and they released him. If this guy can hit a slam off ya get your f##king ass outta here.

Notes: Grace apologizes for remarks

MIAMI -- Broadcaster Mark Grace apologized on the air Wednesday for profane remarks that made their way onto Tuesday's broadcast.
Due to a faulty talk-back switch, viewers heard remarks that Grace thought could only be heard by those in the television truck. Play-by-play man Thom Brennaman apologized on Tuesday night a few innings after the incident and Grace apologized through the media following the game and followed it up with a direct, unscripted apology during Wednesday's pregame show and in the opening inning of the game.
Diamondbacks team president Rich Dozer also released a statement on Wednesday.
"We apologize to all fans who may have heard comments as a result of a technical difficulty during last night's game," Dozer said. "We do not condone the remarks and truly regret the fact that this unfortunate incident took place. Providing our fans with wholesome, family entertainment both in-stadium and on-air has always been our top priority, and I assure you that this will never happen again, technical difficulty or not. Mark feels terrible about the situation and has made those feelings clear in tonight's broadcast."
