White Sox 3B Joe Crede suffered a stress fracture in the tip of his middle finger on his right hand, according to x-rays this afternoon.

The fracture occured when he was hit by a pitch from Minnesota pitcher Jessie Crain in the 10th inning of yesterday's 2-1 win.Crede was squaring around to bunt when he was hit.

According to the Seattle doctors who examined him, this is the same injury that Mariners 3B Willie Bloomquist had earlier in the season.Bloomquist only missed 3 games.

Crede has resumed non-baseball pre-game activities, and is lifting weights.

BTW,Crede is mired in a 5-55 slump.

Pablo Ozuna and Geoff Blum will share 3B duties until Crede comes back.
