i had heart palpitations in the 8th inning....... and then TRACHS got outta that jam and i was ELATED :banana: BUT THEN LOOPER was on the mound and i had to force myself to BREATH..... :eek:

then he gave up that hit and i thought F*CK. IT'S OVER. OH WELL. AT LEAST TRACHS WAS BRILLIANT....

but then he LOOKED GOOD after that! :eek:

and then the last out, man left on 3rd, game over, METS WIN! :eek:

The word "brilliant" definitely conjures up a very specific performance by a pitcher. Of course you both used the same word. There's really no better word to describe what Trax did last night! :D Based on the circumstances, "phenomenal" may be the only other alternative.
