I wouldn't call myself a pro, but just don't spend anymore than you have in your account. That way you won't get into debt, and save you a lot of problems.

Treat it like MONEY. If you would not want to hand over the money to buy something, don't just plop down your credit card because you can. And I agree about paying off the balance every month. If you let that balance slowly grow, you'll be thousands of dollars in debt before you know it, and you are far too young to dig yourself into a hole. Once you are in a hole, it is very difficult to climb out.

Exactly what everyone else said, Tony. Never charge more than you can pay off in one payment. Spend wisely. :)

1) use it in emergencies only
2) try not to carry a balance. interest rates suck.
3) if you cant pay the whole balance, try to pay off at least half the bill.
4) never ever ever pay only the minimum amount.
5) internet bill pay rules. use it!
6) never use it when you can easily pay cash
7) dont max it out, unless you can pay it off in two payments (being that its only 700)
8) be smart
following those 8 rules and you should be fine. $700 isnt that large of a limit that you should be overwhelmed if you are smart. My first real credit card only had a 2000 limit (finally raised to 3000 in march). I make sure its paid off within two months and

is it a debit card? or a credit card...? I know mine can do both, so I just use it as a debit card so that it takes the money directly off my account...it saves me the trouble of having to balance my account and pay off stuff etc.
it's a lot easier that way

datch, i have both as well, but i have a separate card i use for credit. i try to only use my debit card (gas pumps, groceries, bar tabs, stuff like that) and only use my credit card for big purchases.

Contrary to some other advice, I'm gonna say don't be afraid to use it, provided of course you can pay for it in full when it comes. That way you are establishing your ability to pay off your bills as well. DOn't get crazy and overspend, but also be willing to use. The best advice is to always pay your bills in full when they come.
