When you think of the Twins dissapointing season, the first thing that comes out of your mind is Justin Morneau. He has had a horrible year. I understand that it's his first year in the majors, but with a guy that has so much natural talent and a guy that has a sweet swing, there is no way he should be this bad. I swear Doug Mientkiewicz hits a lot better than what Justin has done. I have no idea what went wrong with him this year. He is too good to be this bad. I am at a loss for words. Bert Blyleven called him out in last night's game.
I don't care if he does not hit many HRs, but is it too much for ask for a guy like him to hit doubles or advances the runners. All I see is him striking out or grounding into a DP. The Twins have too many hitters doing that as it is. That's frustrating.
I don't know what else coaches can tell him. They can tell him so many things, but he has to get it done. It's a mystery how he has been hideously bad this year.
I really hope things change next year or else he will be in the long list of guys who was supposed to be HR hitters for the Twins, but flop when they have the opportunity. Twins have those hitters to last a lifetime.
