RAMON CASTRO!!!

He hits a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 8th to put the Mets up 6-4.

And Looper manages to get us the save.

WOO-freakin'-HOOOOOOOOOO!

I was out to dinner with friends, it was a fabulous dinner, I didn't even think about baseball............ and I walk into my apartment and immediately think, "METS!!!! WHAT'S THE SCORE??!!"

Turned on the game, it's the bottom of the 8th, and the score is 6-4!!! I saw the ending of the game!!! Loop was pumped!!! You could see it in his eyes!!!!

YAY!!!!!! :jump:

I'll have to watch the replay of the game, just to see the Ramon Castro 3-run homerun!!!

I love him. I loved the interview with him afterwards. The guy's all business!!!

Not think about baseball??? Even when I'm out to a fabulous dinner with friends, I'm always thinking about baseball if there's a [Mets] game in progress!!

Willie and Reyes in the dugout was my 2nd favorite moment!!! (of course my 1st was Castro's monster homerun! :jump: he's my HERO! 1-0 pitch, GORGEOUS swing, did you see him stop and admire the ball? lol :D) I LOVED HOW ALL OF SHEA STADIUM WAS INTO IT!!! and how bout that LADY who was all hysterical (kinda like how i am at games) and everyone with their rally caps, esp. those two little baby met fans (well, they were like 8-9... but how cute were they!)

JOSE's reaction was THE BEST though!! he's a walking cheerleading squad!! gotta LOVE HIM!!

i also love how BELTRAN was ON tonight!!! 3 for 3! homerun, 2 RBIs!! i hope we start seeing THE REAL CARLOS BELTRAN in september!!!!

GREAT GAME!!!!

although i must admit i had to watch it in Delay-mode (with no sound!) .....i was like 5 minutes behind with my TIVO.... didn't have the stomach to watch it LIVE-live.... that 8th inning gave me heart palpitations!!!

I totally agree.. Watching Reyes excitement and him hi-5-ing Willie was so incredible to see....

Fans were into it, James was into it as after Castros homerun I woke up Jackie's daughter because I was so excited.. I think Jackie finally GETS it as far as what it means to be a Mets fan as well as a baseball fan:thumbsup:

This game was very weird as it had a strange feel from the beginning and I mean the beginning when Seo had that 11 pitch AB to Rollins I had a weird sense that he may have some trouble vs the Phils...

Then the homerun to Loften and then the 2 run jack from Met killer Burrell I knew it could be a long night.. But I kept thinking in my head, I'm staying up for this one because I had a gut feeling they would pull it out vs Tejeda... Tejeda actually pitched very well, especially after Beltrans 1st inning HR...

I'd actually like to nominate Beltran as a co-mvp in this game as he was 3-3 with 2 rbi's and 1 HUGE play where he made a GORGEOUS throw to Castro to nail Loften on a bang bang play at the plate which I think turned the tide in this game....

Also, give some credit to Seo... He clearly didnt have his best stuff working last night and he gave up 3 in the 1st and 1 in the 2nd but then gutted it out to pitch 3 scoreless innings to keep the Mets in the game...

Loop also always gets some bad props when he F's up so how about some good props as he looked smooth facing the top of the Phillies order.. (Thank God he didnt have to face Abreu, who OWNS him)

This was a HUGE game for the Mets as we now have Pedro on the mound tonight vs Myers so we should see a good pitching duel tonight and tomorrow we get Glavine vs Lieber who has not been very good this season... We have the momentum going now and we are only a 1/2 game out of the Wild Card and only out of the NL East....

BELIEVE BABY!

Also, wasnt it great to see Cammy out there? He presented the line-up card before the game..

Good to see him back:thumbsup:

OH!! that's right! i wanted to post about Cammy!!! DID YOU SEE him congratulating Ramon at the end of the game?? they sort of showed this part pretty quickly--i had to replay it 3 times in SLO-MO cuz i wanted to make sure it was Cammy and see his face and see how HAPPY he was for Ramon! it was at the very end--first they showed Beltran hugging Floyd (Beltran looked SO happy! that might have been the HAPPIEST i'd ever seen him since becoming a Met!), then Ramon i think appears in front of him and floyd and someone else congratulates ramon.... THEN i see #44 approaching him and patting him on the shoulder or something and he's smiling and i'm like WAIT! IS THAT CAMMY?? so i had to replay it 3 more times...... he looked so happy to be out there and to be with everyone! i'm thinking he's gotta be sad too and wanting to be part of all this good stuff.....

it was very cool to see all the big guns GUSH at ramon!! :D ramon is handling all the attention very well but i think he is freaking out inside!
i don't think he's the attention-loving type lol :D

And, at almost the same instant that Ramon hit that ball out into the stratosphere, John Olerud was singling in the tying run up in Boston.

Happy birthday to me!

I'm going tonight, and I'm all aflutter. :)

GO PETEY!!!

I caught a glimpse of someone in the dugout that looked like Cameron. I guess it was.

Reyes jumping up and down after the Blastro was just too friggin funny. Forget high five's or knocking on someone's helmet. Give me the ole jumpin' up and down. :D

Sandy Alomar Sr's reaction was as awesome as Willie and Jose was. Seeing Sandy raised his hand was pretty good too.
