NEW YORK (AP) -- The New York Mets will recall left-hander Kazuhisa Ishii from Triple-A Norfolk and purchase the contracts of right-hander Shingo Takatsu and left-hander Tim Hamulack on Thursday when active rosters expand to 40.

All three pitchers should be available for the series finale against Philadelphia, the Mets said Wednesday.

Acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers during spring training, Ishii went 3-9 with a 5.04 ERA in 16 starts for the Mets this season before he was sent down. Now that New York has six healthy starters, he almost certainly will be used out of the bullpen.

The Mets have not had a left-hander in the bullpen since demoting Dae-Sung Koo on Aug. 22.

The 36-year-old Takatsu was released by the White Sox on Aug. 1, less than a year after he finished second to Oakland shortstop Bobby Crosby in AL Rookie of the Year balloting.

Japan's career saves leader went 1-2 with a 5.97 ERA and eight saves in 31 appearances with Chicago this season. He was 0-1 with a 3.38 ERA in eight innings spanning seven games, including one start, at Norfolk.

Hamulack was 3-1 with a 1.02 ERA and six saves in 28 relief appearances for the Tides.
