When you think of Joe Horn, you think of that disgraceful display that he did in putting that cell phone in the Saints goalpost on the night that the Saints kick the crap out of the Giants several years ago. I like to savage people when they make idiotic mistakes or if they stink up the joint, but I am always willing to give them credit if they did something great. What Joe Horn has done to the people of Louisana is simply awesome. He has done great job taking care of the unfortunate, homeless people in New Orleans as he has gone to the Astrodome and other shelters every week. He has showed some heavy heart. It helps that his beginning was very rough as a kid so he has a great perspective. It's good to see him really come through along with the rest of the Saints players and the Saints organization. He also showed great leadership to the Saints since that unfortunate disaster at New Orleans.

Joe should be very proud of himself for what he is doing and I think that goes a long way for people to forget what he did against the Giants. I have a lot of respect for what he did.

Here is the article on Joe Horn that I read in the Newark Star-Ledger today :

I hope you are not insinuating that I am savaging a guy for what he did couple of years ago. That's not what this thread is about. I am praising the guy. I get called out for being too negative on athletes or how I get pleasure of seeing athletes fail so I wrote a rare positive thread on an athlete. Let's face it athletes put themselves in a position to be savaged. They are too coddled. They are above the law. They have been pampered since they were babies. They have had special treatment since kindergarten to college.

You never hear fans or the media say anything nice about an athlete off the field. On rare occasions, this type of contribution should be praised.
