After all, they were hot a few months ago until they turn into freeze popsciles nowdays. WTF is the mattah with them???? I really want to strangle Looper for f*cking up the games all the time. Beltran went dead all of sudden for some strange reason.
Now what's next?
Do ya think Willie should be fired? In my humble opinion, I don't think he should be fired this year since it's his rookie year as a manager. He needs the second and possible last chance to redeem the team back to shape next year. Whadda ya tink?

I dont think Willie should be fired and I think he did a decent job his rookie year at the helm....
Loop really needs to be gone and I can just hope this year was an adjustment year for Beltran and I really expect a HUGE year for him next year as there are NO excuses at all for him to have a down year...
Gotta work on our bullpen IMO as I think at this time, that is our #1 priority....

I agree, James. That bullpen needs a HUGE improvement. Any ideas to get a couple of decent relievers? I'm somewhat apprenshive on Billy Wagner but I like how he works his pitches around but I'm concerned on declining next year. Hmmm......

Let me get to Willie Randolph first. The guy did a very good job this season. For Mets fans whining about him, he or she needs to go get a clue. What else could he possibly done? Some of the criticism that he has gotten from Mets fans is so unreal and ridiculous. I am not sure if Lou Piniella or any other veteran manager would have done much with this team. I am really getting tired of the criticism with unreasonable Mets fans who expect the Mets to be perfect every game. No wonder why Rey Ordonez spoke out for Mets players about how the Mets players feel about their fans nagging them.
WTF is the matah with the Mets? This team was a mediocre team at best. Their pen was a question mark all season and that doomed them. Some guys haven't done their jobs as hitters.
How about Joe Nathan? He would solve the Mets problems in the closer role. You folks can have Joe Nathan if you want. I think he will be out of Minnesota. I could see a blockbuster trade in which the Mets could get Mauer or Santana, Morneau, and Nathan. Those three fill the Mets needs. Of course, the Mets are going to have give up something to get these guys. I wouldn't mind having Phillip Humber, Jose Reyes, and David Wright on the Twins for who the Twins give up. Twins will likely be in a fire sale mode so if I am Omar, I would bug Terry Ryan and get those guys.

No way the Mets would give up on Reyes or Wright.. They are both very, very good and both are young and the future of this team...

Well then you can forget that trade ever happening if that's the case. Gotta give up something good to get those guys in return. Mauer, Santana, and Morneau are not stiffs, you know. I think if they get out of Minnesota, they will be fine. These guys are as young as Reyes and Wright. Mauer could be a pretty darn good catcher for years to come. He is like 25. I think he can be that catcher for the next 10 years. Johan is 25. He can be the anchor of the starting rotation for the next 10 or 15 years. Morneau is probably better off elsewhere than in Minnesota at this point. I don't see how the Mets lose in this trade. Plus, the Mets can always sign Free Agents thanks to being in the market they are in not to mention they got the new cable network coming in.

lol:laff:
You crack me up TW.... Met fans never presented this trade scenario.. It was you, a Twins fan that came up with the idea...
I never said any of those players are stiffs... But lets be real here.. Santata is by far a STUD but really, Morneau is a .248 hitter with some pop and Mauer is a great hitter but has a history of injury problems his 1st 2 seasons in the majors... I consider Wright and Reyes both better than him....
We can always sign free agents WITHOUT trading Wright and Reyes;)

BG: Well I have lived in the NY Metropolitan area the entire life so I picked up some of the habits from NY fans like making trade propoals on sports radio. Seriously, I am just frustrated to see how this Twins season went this year. I have never been this dissapointed as a fan hence why I am starting to think trade ideas. Personally, the Twins really need to make a lot of trades and if it means dumping Johan or Joe Mauer, so be it. I am not sure if the kids in the minors are ready to go to the pros for the Twins. I would like to see the Twins add four or five players through trades. This team has zero talent when it comes to hitting. I would love to see a guy like Ryan Howard or Delmon Young hit HRs for the Twins next season and if it means dumping Johan or Joe Mauer, so be it. This Twins team needs a lot of players to improve that lineup. Besides the Twins will be fine with Liriano and Baker. Personally, I think the Twins really need to start all over again because I don't think they will catch up with the Indians, Tigers, White Sox, and even the Royals who are lot more talented than the Twins. This team will be in last place next year so they might well be in last place by trading their core players and try to contend for a playoff spot in two years.
As for Justin Morneau, I hate to say this, but I think he is a bust. I am just amazed how he lost it within one year. Last year, this guy was hitting HRs almost every day. He went on a HR binge in May, but then he just fell off the toilet with his play and his teammates and his manager has called him out for being lazy.

HEY!
You trying to rip my team off?;)

I think Morneau is better off elsewhere. I don't think he will ever be the player he is if he stays in Minnesota. I just think he needs to move on in a new city where he can be himself.
I gotta ask you this, BG. You think the Twins should consider long and hard about trading Santana. Personally they should. Twins can not afford Johan long-term. He is going to make 12 million in the next few years. You tell me how Carl will afford this guy. I think he will be out the door next season and maybe it's best that he is gone. There is no point for the Twins to go waste his talent while the team is losing 1-0 or 2-0 or 2-1 when he is pitching. Twins are better served getting four or five players in return and build around them. It's not that I am down on Johan. It's just that this team is so bad that they gotta get players to build around hence why I want a fire sale and start over again. They got lot of good players that they can get a lot in return. They would be foolish not to trade their best players.

That just stinks that the Twins even need to think at all about trading an amazing talent in Santana.. But I guess they need to go the same route as the A's and the thinking is, its better to get something for him rather than just lose to him to free agency..

Maybe it's me, but I don't think it stinks. This Twins team needs to make lot of changes after the season they had. They have no talent on offense from the big leagues to the minors. As much as I would llove to see the kids in the majors, they are not ready to go to the majors and play everyday. If you can get four or five players for a Mauer and Santana, you do it. You can't worry about keeping them. I would love to have guys who can contribute on offense right away. I would love to get a Ryan Howard, Delmon Young, B.J. Upton, or Carl Crawford on my team. If you have to sacrifice Johan or Joe Mauer, you have to do it. This Twins team has pressing needs that they need to solve. After the season they had, no one and I mean no one is untouchable and that includes Johan and Joe Mauer.
Oh and I would love to see Wally Backman manage the Twins.

Hell, if I had a pitcher like Santana and felt we couldn't keep him because of financial reasons I would be pissed and think that would stink...
Maybe thats just me:notme:

BG: It depends on the situation. Twins situation is that they need to get some young talent who can flat out play and contribute now. While I would love to see Matt Moses, Garrett Jones, and Denard Span ready now, they would not be ready. What they need is Delmon Young and B.J. Upton to play and contribute now. This team need talent. What I saw this year was not the case so trading Johan, Joe Mauer, and others could be necessary so that we can get young talent. Besides what exactly is the point of paying a starter like Johan knowing that he would lose 1-0. That's call wasting talent and wasting money. You can get good players to build around and Twins have proven that by trading Chuck Knoblauch and getting five guys in return. That move started the Twins renaissance.

Robin: Well my convo seems to make sense because I am proposing a trade in which the Twins could give up Santana, Nathan, Mauer or Morneau for Reyes, Wright, and Humber. Then it willl eventually started with me talking about my Twins.

Um...no thanks. We'd rather keep Reyes and Wright, period. You can't have 'em. Sorry....
