I love it!
We had that bad stretch to start Sept and teams like Philly, Florida and Washington pretty much kicked our asses and took us out of the playoff picture..
Well looky now!
We took 2 of 3 vs the Fish and pretty much knocked them off, swept the Nats and took them out of the picture and now are destroying the hopes and dreams of Philly fans after taking the 1st 2 in Philly!
This is a great way to end a frustrating season... After the games of tonight we are actually in 3rd place in the division... Went from last to 3rd in a matter of a week!

I don't know.....I kind of think I'd rather see Philly with the WC than Houston.....but then again, I'd love to see guys like Biggio and Berkman go all the way......but then again, I'd hate to see a certain particular starter go to the Series.....but then again, I loved Tom Glavine's line about taking everyone down with them.......
But it certainly was an exciting game! Heilman was fantabulous!!!

Thanks again for beating the Phillies last night
Heilman was fantabulous!!!
I wonder where the Mets would be if he was in the bullpen pitching like he is now all year?
Phillies' hopes are dying. Wonder if the Mets will put an end to the Phillies' playoff hopes tonight. Lol, the Mets are indeed playing big time spoiler. Wailing on the Marlins and Nationals. Everything is in Houston's favor, like most people know, the NL East just beat down on each another and pretty much removed themselves from the playoff.
Too bad they're not in NL West. I think every time in NL East has a better record than the Padres. :)

Oh, Willie, you know I love you. And Craig Biggio. But I just don't want to see a certain someone win another pennant. If not for him I'd be rooting for the 'Stros all the way.

Oh, Willie, you know I love you.And yet you wish bad things upon my team simply because you think one player is an asshole?! Should I go out of my way to hate the Mets because of Ray 'Boxhead' Knight the adulterer or because of my dislike for Mike Torrez (who I didn't like for giving up the Bucky Dent homer in '78 and certainly didn't like for beaning Dickie Thon in '84 and actually ruining a career)?
Thanks for taking 2 out of 3 from the Phillies this week, Mets. Hopefully my Astros can take it from here

You just hate the Mets for 1986;) :DThat's at least partially true, but not for the reason you probably think. You ask most Astros fans about the NLCS and they'll tell you we blew it on our on, at least blew Game 6 and a shot at Game 7 and the NL Pennant. The '86 Mets were also a pretty damn good team --- what did they win, 105 games? --- so they made their own breaks all season long.
But you can also ask a lot of Houstonians about the '86 Mets and they'll bring up the few players who potty-mouthed the city and its citizens after they started a mouthy-shoving match over at Cooter's night club when they failed to score with a couple of ladies. Teufel, as I recall, spewed the nastiest comments and since Darling and Hernandez (I think, my memory is not what I once thought it was) were with Teufel, they pretty much were indicted along with Teufel.
But --- and here comes the mushy part --- I don't have any of the distaste for New Yorkers that too many Texans are sadly noted for. My best friend, God rest his soul, was a Jamaica, Queens, native, and my lady is Long Island, Masapequa Park to be exact. Plus it is message boards that I've met a lot of great, G-R-E-A-T, people from teams I don't really like. I'm just a crotchety old man who suffers from a hangover now and again and has a tendency to scream back from time to time when people dis my team or my home (is 'dis' still a word?). :freak:

It wasn't Keith. It was Bobby Ojeda

Yeah, you're correct. I think Rick "Aggie" Aguilera was also involved, too.
