I read that the Marlins were talking to Joe Girardi for the "vacant" Marlins job?
Huh?
When did this happen? I really need to pay better attention.

I think he resigned, but the bottom line was that the players revolted against him so he made an about face and resigned rather than be fired. He basically was told to resign or be fired so he resigned to save face.

He did not retire at all. Heck he said that he is interested in a managerial position for teams that want him.

he retired. It wasnt a players revolt. It was two players: that jackass Burnett and that stupid idiot Cabrera. Many of the players didnt have problems with McKeon.
Mckeon isnt the kinda guy who resigns to save face. He's a crusty curmudgeony guy. remember he is like 75 years old. I think he can call it retirement if he wants.

Thanks for the info. I then read the other thread about him resigning. :)
Well, good for him then, he can enjoy life in whatever he chooses to do. I always liked him as a manager.
Cabrera needs to grow up and good luck AJ, the Marlins do NOT need your type.

Ray: Then how come Jack said that he would be interested in managing another club (God would I love to see him in Minnesota). That's not call retiring. There were other guys too, but they were not publicized. Those guys were anonymous.
